We take great pride in curing and smoking our own meats. Smoking trout takes up to 6 hours. Our buffalo ribs braise for over 10 hours!

Krabloonik Restaurant offers guests an unforgettable world-class dining experience that will long be remembered as the signature meal of your Aspen/Snowmass visit. Join us winter or summer for a taste of the wild!

Walk-ins to the restaurant are welcome, although reservations will assure you of an extraordinary dining experience.

THE SETTING

Krabloonik Restaurant is a romantic excursion into the past. The restaurant is housed in a rustic log cabin, set in the spectacular Snowmass mountains with magnificent views of Mt. Daly and Capitol Peak. In winter as you dine, you can watch sled dog teams coming and going. At night, guests can relax and enjoy the ambience of the restaurant in the sunken fire pit.

THE FARE

The Krabloonik menu is a unique offering of exquisitely-prepared wild game and fresh seafood. Choose from such exotic and memorable dishes as elk, pheasant, wild boar, buffalo ribeye, fresh mountain trout and caribou. Signature dishes include Krabloonik's Legendary Wild Mushroom Soup, Classic Baked Brie with Lingonberry Jam and Bacon-wrapped Noisettes of Caribou.

Also available are freshly baked breads, homemade preserves, and smoked meats from our smokehouse. Desserts are prepared daily in our kitchen. Our Wild Mushroom Soup and homemade preserves are now available to purchase. You can take them with you or arrange for us to ship to any address.

The Hours of Operation:

Winter Season
Open daily for lunch and dinner through April 2009.

Lunch is served 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. daily.

Dinner is served starting at 5:30 p.m. daily.

Summer Season
Open mid-June through end of September

Dinner is served starting at 6:00 p.m. every Friday and Saturday evening with summer special and prix fixe menus.

There's something very wild, something that hearkens back to Jack London, perhaps, about sitting in a log cabin watching teams of sled dogs come and go as you bite into a tender caribou loin or wild-boar chop. That's part of the pleasure of Krabloonik. A venture of the largest dog kennel in America's lower 48 states, this rustic restaurant has huge picture windows with mountain views and seating around a sunken fireplace. Skiers drop into the restaurant from the Campground Lift for lunch, and visitors can dine before or after an excursion on a dog sled. For dinner there's Krabloonik smoked trout with creamy horseradish for starters and a wide variety of game, beef tenderloin, lamb, and fish for the main course. Those with hearty appetites can choose between two combination game entrees: caribou, elk, and deer; or caribou, quail, and boar. Smoking is not permitted.
